Strategic Communications & Storytelling Manager

We are looking for a passionate Communications & Storytelling Manager, who cares deeply about climate justice, to join our team!

The Strategic Communications & Storytelling Manager leads ACA’s communications strategy and oversees the organisation’s storytelling, media, and digital engagement. The role is central to ensuring cohesive messaging across the organisation, amplifying youth voices, and positioning ACA as a leading voice in the African climate justice movement.

This position requires a strategic communicator who combines creativity with strong organisational and leadership skills. The successful candidate will manage both day-to-day communications activities and long-term strategic initiatives that support ACA’s mission and growth.

Since this role is management level, the Strategic Communications & Storytelling Manager directly manages the Digital Communications Coordinator, and is responsible for working with the Managerial Team on governance and organisational oversight. It’s important to note that since we are a small team, managerial roles still require a level of implementation. The split of work expected is:

  • 60% – Strategic communications and implementation (working in the Communications Department with the Digital Communications Coordinator) 

  • 40% – Governance, organisational oversight, partnership management, project management, movement-building, and team building (in collaboration with the Managerial Team)
